Day 1
|
Meet at Siliguri in the morning and then transfer to Darjeeling. Overnight in hotel

Day 2
|
Darjeeling - Manibhanjang - Acclamatize
A short drive of one hour takes us to Manibhanjang, a village right on the India- Nepal Border.

Day 3
|
Trek to Tonglu - 04 hrs walk
A fairly short first days trek along a steadily ascending trail to Tonglu at just over 3000 Mts. with superb view of Darjeeling. Overnight at Trekkers Hut.

Day 4
|
Tonglu - Garibas - 04 hrs walk.
Another easy day, with a few short climbs but mostly downhill, to the little settlement of Garibas. Overnight at Trekkers Hut.

Day 5
|
Garibas - Sandakphu - 3660 Mts. - 05 hrs walk. A beautiful days walk (although mainly uphill), through bamboo glades and rhododendron and magnolia forests to the crest of the Singalila ridge, with excellent views towards Everest and Makalu - both quite distant, and much closer view of Kanchenjunga and its associated peaks. Overnight at trekkers hut.

Day 6
|
Sandakphu - Phalut - 3420 mts - 07 hrs walk. A very long but rewarding day, undulating along the top of the ridge. There are some short sections of steep trail but the views of Cho Oyu in the west, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Pandim and of course Kanchenjunga are astounding and repay the effort many times over. Overnight at Trekkers Hut / Camp.

Day 7
|
In Phalut, Early risers will get views of the spectacular sunrise on the high peaks; the rest of the day is free to explore the numerous trails that lead down through thick forest to villages in the cultivated valleys below. Overnight at Trekkers Hut / Camp.

Day 8
|
Phalut - Ramam - 2880 mts - 05 hrs walk.
We continue north along the ridge for a further 3 kms before the trail turns east and descends to the village of Samanden, situated in a hanging valley with cultivated fields all around. Known locally as the "lost village'', Samanden has commanding views over the surrounding mountains. We trek through a section of the Singalila National park that abounds in bird life, before ascending to Ramam. Overnight in camp.

Day 9
|
Ramam - Rimbek - 04 hrs walk.
We continue downhill through cultivated fields and small hamlets to the floor of the Siri Khola. Crossing the river by a suspension bridge we walk initially through mixed forest and then through a series of small tidy villages. Overnight in camp.

|
Rimbek - Siliguri.
